Self-Identified Profileâ
for Search Committees

The SIPâ  was developed to help provide a better "fit" between clergy and their work.  In many cases the SIPâ can help improve the fit in an existing clergy - congregation relationship through greater awareness and shaping of the work.  In other cases the SIPâ  can help search committees insure a fit when it is administered to candidates prior to a final interview.  SIPâ is not designed to be a screening tool.  It is designed to facilitate a more meaningful conversation.

A SIPâ is confidential to clergy person who has taken it.  He or she may decide that its value lies in his or her own personal reflection and development.

When the information from a SIPâ is shared,  it can be useful in the following areas:

  • Structure interview questions in a search process

  • Shaping job descriptions

  • Setting work objectives

  • Clergy start-up

  • Choosing a leadership team with a complementary profile

  • Continuing education

  • Strategic planning

The Passion-Effectiveness Toolâ is structured around the same categories as the Church Assessment Toolâ.  The PET-CAT combination is the first integrated system that enables both congregations and clergy to self-reflect and chart a course that builds on the needs of both.

The Passion-Effectiveness Toolâ
   generates the Self-Identified
  Profile
â that  includes
  • Transformational Qualities
Where you are likely to make a difference...

  • Distinctive Characteristics
Where you are different from other clergy...

  • Short Circuits
Tasks that will drain your energy...

  • Emerging Priorities
Where you want to invest future energy...

  • Distinctive Interests
Where you are unusual in your interest...

  • Descriptive Style Map
    Your theological and flexibility pattern...

The PETâ is being offered at no charge until October 1, 2007.  If you know a clergy person that could benefit from this profile, please send them to this page and have them click here
